Trump Nominates Elon Musk to Head Department of Government Efficiency
- fire_lake 2y agoHow is Elon going to juggle this, CEO x2, stimulants, fatherhood, social media, … ?
- jmye 2y agoAs if he cares about being a father. But for the rest: more stimulants/ketamine binges.
- mlindner 2y agoI think that's a bit off. He seems to care very much about being a father or at the very least he likes to hang with his kids. He carries one of his young sons absolutely everywhere with him.
- jmye 2y agoAnd he called another very-much-living one dead. Father of the year, for sure.
- mlindner 2y ago[dead]
- jmye 2y ago… Is that a defense? I don’t even care about the misgendering nonsense, his child is very much alive. Being upset that your kid is their own person and not your little programmable automaton is, in every way conceivable, bad parenting. What a weird defense of the dude.
- consteval 2y agoVirtually all of Elon's children and mothers hate him with a passion. I'm much more inclined to trust them on the topic of fatherhood as opposed to random people on the internet who treat Elon like Jesus Christ.
- fintermu1 2y agoHe will finally be able to get speedy spaceship launch approvals from the FAA now!
- tempaccount420 2y agoand everyone else too
- BirAdam 2y agoWell, Trump also picked Marco Rubio for State… so I am not exactly thinking that this administration will stop spending. A few minor cuts maybe, just enough to allow MAGA types to say Trump “kept his promises.”

- jltsiren 2y agoThe interesting question is how this will affect Tesla. Will Musk continue as the CEO, or will he step down? I would assume that every other major shareholder and leader hopes he will step down. Once you become a top-level politician, that is your primary identity. Everything else you do becomes a side business. If Musk remains the CEO, everyone doing business with Tesla understands that they are dealing with a US government official. That's going to be a big business risk, especially outside the US.
- blackeyeblitzar 2y agoThis department is an outside advisory group basically. I don’t think it is a real government agency because that would require congressional action.
- root_axis 2y ago> If Musk remains the CEO, everyone doing business with Tesla understands that they are dealing with a US government official. That's going to be a big business risk, especially outside the US. It seems like this would be very good for business, especially considering the billions in revenue Tesla already earns from the u.s. government. If I were a Tesla competitor I would be worried.
- whaaaaat 2y agoThis is a title grant to keep Musk happy. Musk gets to meme about it while being held to no actual metrics, Trump gets to keep Musk content to chase snipes around the garden. Musk is being played for a fool and he doesn't see it. He's being treated the same way you treat a 5 year old who needs to be kept busy, lol.

- D-Coder 2y agoWell, that's the _good_ possibility...
- whaaaaat 2y agoIt's literally just a title. There's no "Dept" being created here. He's going to report to some other existing dept and no one will listen to him, lol.
- snypher 2y agoAgreed because it's the same ballpit Ramaswamy was thrown into.
