No reading news, no watching news.
No taking a passing interest in news.
No X, no Facebook (I gave these up already actually).
I’m going cold turkey.
It’s all so depressing, such bad news, it was deeply impacting my state of mind.
I already feel happier.

- 5350-uiop-1130 2y agothe media is there to manufacture consent to frame events in a way that benefits the shot callers a country is like company or a crime syndicate, run by un-elected executive shareholders or a crime family and the media and news is the PR department
- adastra22 2y agoDid this years ago. Was absolutely among the best decisions I’ve ever made for personal mental health. That said, I still use Twitter and often find out about news events that way. But I’m very hygienic about who I follow, mute a few necessary words, and I never turn on the algorithm feed.
