Install FreeBSD with One Command
- snakeyjake 2y ago>IMHO 16 GB for FreeBSD systems seems like more the enough - my current 'desktop' with 1500+ packages installed takes 12 GB ... and most people do not have that much stuff installed. I use my FreeBSD system as an actual computer and not as an expensive and needlessly power hungry front end to a terminal emulator so my install has 219GB of data on freebsd-zfs. I think how you use computers and how the vast, overwhelming, majority of users use their machines may be a little different.
- Joker_vD 2y ago> as an actual computer and not as an expensive and needlessly power hungry front end to a terminal emulator Wait, one can use FreeBSD for something other than running tmux? The more you know.
- doublerabbit 2y agoYeah. You can run a jail with tmux!
- vermaden 2y agoDo not confuse 'system' and 'data' sizes. For this 16GB I was thinking the space only for FreeBSD base system and pkg(8) packages. Nothing more.
