i'd consider using a signal generator (square waves), led and oscilloscope to characterize the response time of the sensor apparatus itself.
- Panzer04 2y agoBare metal code and a photodiode will both have latencies so low as to be irrelevant compared to everything else floating at dozens of milliseconds. EDIT: well, apparently these are photo resistors, which are much slower and could in fact have substantial transition times (brief lookup indicates 10ms), so could definitely be relevant.
- a-dub 2y agoi've actually made that exact mistake in the past. luckily it was for something that wasn't important. i reiterate my suggestion.
