Very dependent on water's hardness. As for contribution to waste, the reminder is that invention made by UK student, and National Grid there had a man watching BBC 1 and 2 during prime time so they can ramp up the capacity right before the ads.
- NavinF 2y agoI'm aware of how the UK grid prepares for ad breaks, but that doesn't answer my question at the top. How many people break kettles often enough to want a repairable kettle? It's already a simple design that lasts a long time. If I wanted to improve it, I'd remove all contact with the water just like a high power microwave does. That way it can last forever. I'm not criticizing the student. That'd be quite hypocritical given how many impractical designs I've created in my life and how many times I've failed to achieve product-market fit. I'm just criticizing the article.
