- gus_massa 2y agoOnce upon a time, the rich and powerful were leading the fights (and forcing peasants to pay taxes). King Arthur never got a sword from a strange woman lying in a pond. For a more recent example, Prince Andrew and Prince Harry have real military experience. They were not fighting in trenches with bayonets, but they were not in a 100% safe possition.
- MarkMarine 2y agoThe once upon a time you’re thinking about had kings on horses watching the battle while we the masses hacked each other to pieces. “Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.” https://youtu.be/t2c-X8HiBng?si=U1cYDcY5ShVJYLqE https://youtu.be/t2c-X8HiBng?si=U1cYDcY5ShVJYLqE
