Soon there won't be any safe place on Windows to copy and paste some random text/password/key that I don't want to get uploaded to some cloud service, or screenshotted and "analysed".
- okdood64 2y agoI don't understand why people still use Windows; especially after the whole Recall debacle.
- t0bia_s 2y agoBecause when you are working in SW that is not supported by linux, you don't have option (macOS is not alternative for me), ie Adobe.
- nicce 2y agoSoon it is not safe to boot Windows unless you are prepared to exterminate all the used hardware.
- dormento 2y agoIts so sad, windows used to be a production ready system in the early 2000s.
- bityard 2y agoSince Windows is closed source, you have no way of knowing that this isn't happening today.
- nicce 2y agoYou can since you can still inspect the traffic. However, it is like finding needle in a haystack since there is quite much of traffic.
- pantulis 2y agoAlso traffic could be encrypted
- nicce 2y agoYes, it is TLS encrypted, but you can decrypt that. As far as I know, there isn't other encryption.
- fsflover 2y agoI never saw anybody able to decrypt Windows telemetry traffic.

- pantulis 2y agoHow would you go about decrypting that traffic? I guess some kind of proxy, but I would assume that Windows would use certificate pinning so as to avoid MITM attacks. Another option?
- seanw444 2y agoAs I always say, never use Windows without a condom (VM), and only sparingly.

- thewebguyd 2y agoDoesn't Apple already do some of this with continuity clipboard? I can cmd-c text and files on my Mac and paste on any device signed into the same Apple account - I would assume this data is passing through iCloud.
- blibble 2y agorecall's going to take a screenshot of your entire desktop every 5 seconds and "AI" it so you can search...
