I it’s not like he shied away from them before. I think he’s starting with a high number to force concessions from China, but we’ll still have some amount of more broad tariffs in the end. Our health system is so screwed up it’s no wonder they can’t make anything happen. There are only two paths to really fix it, and both would cause a lot of short term issues.
