Wow, this resonated with me extremely strongly. Only realised the term “latchkey kid” applied to me in my thirties. Like many, didn’t mind it, wouldn't say it harmed me. Didn’t feel neglected: my mum needed to work and I knew she was home as soon as she could be. But oh god can I relate about boomer divorces.
