Crazy no one talks about how the argument against voter ID is that IDs cost money, $90 in Washington. This essentially becomes a Voting Tax.
- piuantiderp 2y agoIn most countries that have them, they are free. Taxes already paid for them. Yes, even replacements
- echoangle 2y agoIn most countries? Really? All countries in Europe I’ve ever heard of make you pay for it. Where is it free?

- 7speter 2y agoIts also a bit of a tax if you can only get ids at the dmv, isn’t it?
- throwaway-blaze 2y agoIt's free if you're below a certain income threshold / qualify for aid programs like SNAP etc. As an aside, I do agree it's crazy to be nickel-and-dimed for things by gov't agencies that my tax dollars have already funded.
