That is double the mortality rate in US federal prisons more than double the mortality rate of the US state prison population. That is roughly double the typical mortality rate of US adults aged 25-64. (~340 per 100k) and due to a variety of reasons (e.g. obesity, lack of access to healthcare) the US's working-age mortality rate is among the worst in the industrialized world.
