It's very irritating for sure, I really don't understand why they do it. It's like rubbing ones fingers on a person's glasses before they come to read your story. The scrollbars belong to the browser, don't take them away unless you have no scrollable content.
- caseyohara 2y agoI'm curious: do you use scrollbars to actually scroll pages, or just as a visual indicator of progress? I don't think I've used a scrollbar to scroll (e.g. click-hold-drag) in over 10 years. Between trackpads and scroll wheels, I haven't had the need.
- thomascountz 2y agoFor such a long article, I find it useful as a visual cue for both tracking progress and for remembering roughly where I was if there's something I want to remember.
- caseyohara 2y agoThanks. I find that useful too.
