"actually observed" Maybe the problem here is you disagree with what an 'observation' is. If you are saying, I must physically see speciation or plate tectonics, myself, within my lifetime. And thus any events that occur over longer time spans, when I'll be dead, and not observing them, thus they cannot be proven? Anything with a long time scale is by your definition, invalid science?
