I've seen enough elections to know that, irrespective of the winner, the big picture will remain roughly the same; the rich will get richer, and everybody else will keep getting the leftovers. So, whenever someone says "this is the most important election ever", I shrug. The good thing about our system is that we can try again in 4 years if we make the wrong choice - look back and you'll see plenty of apocalyptical predictions for the victory of candidate X, Y or Z.
