- TRiG_Ireland 2y agoThe linked case is absolutely about making IVF illegal, or at least difficult.
- ChocolateGod 2y agoThe linked case also mentions that legislation was passed to provide criminal immunity to patients and providers relating to IVF. I can't see why any side of the political spectrum(s) would be opposed to IVF given its about helping people who are struggling to have kids and start a family.
- cbsks 2y ago> I can't see why any side of the political spectrum(s) would be opposed to IVF You haven’t looked far enough right. Not everyone is pro-IVF.
- ahazred8ta 2y agoThe author is referencing a court ruling: "The Alabama Supreme Court ruled [in Feb 2024] that frozen embryos are human beings and those who destroy them can be held liable for wrongful death" thereby putting IVF clinics in jeopardy. (That particular problem was later fixed by the legislature.)
