Nvidia to launch consumer ARM desktop processors in 2025

- ksec 2y agoSomewhat surprised this didn't come this year. Both Desktop, Laptop and Servers. I could understand not playing in the Smartphone game because of Modem. But the three above seems simple enough at the current scale and enough synergy across its products line and toolings. Unless Nvidia wants to buy Mediatek, I dont see how they could enter the Smartphone sector without some pain.
- shortrounddev2 2y agoAre x86's days numbered?
- darkest_ruby 2y agoEver since apple M1 actually
- LorenDB 2y agoI think so, but Arm won't be what kills x86. Both AMD Strix Point and Intel Lunar Lake have great performance and battery life, to the point that at least Strix Point is actually on par with Apple's M3. RISC-V is going to kill all other architectures in the next 10-20 years with its lack of licensing restrictions.
- vegapulse 2y agoWow! They just replaced Intel in Dow. Now they are going to replace it's desktop market. Can't wait to try it.
