No example given about what stupidity is.
Then how can you tell the diff stupidity vs intelligence since there is not a point refence my friend?
Should i take your word for it?
"According to Cipolla’s "Basic Laws of Human Stupidity," a stupid person is one whose actions result in negative consequences for both themselves and those around them, irrespective of intent"
Whould strongly argue against this.
- drcwpl 2y agoFair comment -- As I say at the start of the essay - it is not easy to define or measure stupidity and sought to show how researchers have attempted to define stupidity in different domains - hence my definition. I can certainly provide many examples from my own life of stupid choices that have impacted others and me!

The post doesn't try to teach people to tell the difference between stupidity and intelligence, but to give a definition and describe some of the mechanisms behind stupidity. It still does give one example of stupid behavior ("Picture someone who (...)") and a few definitions of it. It's not well written, nonetheless, and might be at least partly AI slop or AI "researched". >Whould strongly argue against this. But, conveniently, not in this comment. Besides, the post mentions some arguments against this already.
- ena0autos 2y agoThe article gives the example of Boris Johnson, again author opinion to me he seems cute and i am straight. And this "Picture someone who recklessly spreads misinformation online, sharing a sensational but false news story without checking its validity." Please author of this article be more intellectual than this. "Whould strongly argue against this." Yes because you see the intent(purpose) of the action taken is what matters(the end makes the means). Also the article does not separates chronic stupid behavior by individuals and a stupid act for some reason.
