I’m always confused as to why people are so paranoid about storage size. I got the base MacBook Air and an external 2TB drive for cheap. Super fast and I never worry about anything - I didn’t even manage to get up to 50% of my 256GB drive.
- birdgoose 2y agoI agree with your sentiment but I feel like many people just don't like the idea of carrying around dongles/cables/hdds/etc with their laptops.
- chihuahua 2y agoEspecially if you value the Apple aesthetic, where there can be only 1 button, 1 port, and everything has to be as thin as possible.
- greenpresident 2y agoThere is a generation of tech users that downloaded TB of media for local storage. It’s just not something a lot of people do anymore but it created a psychological need, even if it’s not a technical necessity.

- kalleboo 2y agoThere are a bunch of large storage needs that macOS does not let you put on an external drive, like your synced Photos library and iMessage history.
