I always notice when my laptop logs into Wayland instead of X after an Ubuntu upgrade because of the cursed, terrible mouse/trackpad acceleration curves under Wayland.
Long live the native Xorg synpatics driver!
(Also why I wrote this to get trackpad gesture support with the synaptics package instead of switching to the cursed libinput project: https://github.com/mqudsi/syngesture https://github.com/mqudsi/syngesture and explanation at https://neosmart.net/blog/multi-touch-gestures-on-linux/ https://neosmart.net/blog/multi-touch-gestures-on-linux/ )
