I'm considering the temp retail associate route because the NYC metropolitan area has plenty of positions. > Crucially, have you spoken to your wife about it? Yeah, we've had this conversation. Money thankfully is not too heavy on our minds but it could be better. I'm already doing the housework and picking up other obligations. The reason why I asked this question is more because I find meaning in doing and not doing makes me feel empty. My expertise requires compute which I don't have access to and I feel like I'm spinning in circles. Sitting at home and applying to another batch of companies that won't look at my resume even with referrals feels demotivational.
