There is something a bit spooky about looking at a dead brain. To think that a person lived in that their entire life, and now it's just lying on a table not doing anything. I guess that's true for whole bodies and all of their parts too, but something about the abstraction of removing the skin, bones, face, etc that we are used to interacting and distilling to the seat of consciousness and emotions makes it spookier.
