- dang 2y agoPlease don't do religious flamewar (or any flamewar) on HN.
- slowhadoken 2y agoI’m not the one posting about the Salem Witch Trials. I’m honestly struggling to figure out what it has to do with tech.
- dang 2y agoHN isn't just for stories about tech! Anything intellectually interesting is welcome here—see https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html. That certainly includes historical material.
- slowhadoken 2y agoWow yelling. Chill. I still think it’s weird. Also if anything is welcome then why isn’t my observation appropriate? Makes no sense.
- dang 2y agoAnything intellectually interesting is welcome, but ideological battle isn't intellectually interesting—it's much too repetitive.
- slowhadoken 2y agoIf my observation isn't intellectually interesting to you then you're welcome to ignore it.
- dang 2y agoThat's not how HN works. We have to ban accounts that won't stick to the intended use of the site, because if we didn't, the site wouldn't survive for long. If you want to use HN as intended, you're certainly welcome to do so, but that means sticking to both the letter and spirit of the guidelines at https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html.
