Dependency resolution uses Coursier, which is one of the open source JVM dependency resolvers. SBT uses it too, and my last company used it with Bazel The "ivy" thing is legacy haha. Mill used to use Apache Ivy to resolve dependencies, years ago. Coursier was a better/faster replacement, but names have a tendency to stick around
