'Magicians get emotional about it': should secrets of magic ever be revealed?

  "Secrets" of magic have always been available to those who want to know them. They're not hard to find, and never have been. The reality is that most people don't want to know them, they want to experience the wonder and mystery. Some magicians are sensitive to this. There's also the fact that most of the "secrets" of magic are far less interesting than people imagine them to be (especially with big stage illusions), and I suspect some magicians want to keep them a secret for this reason. Personally, my stance is that "secrets" of magic are like story plot twists: it's rude and depriving others of enjoyment to reveal them to people who aren't seeking them out, and those who seek them out will find them anyway.
