I'm a web dev (primarily frontend) with an undergrad environmental science degree, and would love to help in some way. I've often thought of making this exact game myself, but it was too big a project. I would love to see if could be a persistent web game like Creeps, but it doesn't have to be. Really enjoy the Evolution / Oceans / Nature series of board games, though those are trait based engine builders rather than ecosystem simulators.
