  "Israel began ground operations in Gaza, and on 27 October, a full-scale invasion was launched." That's since 1 year before that comment, exactly. Invasion and occupation of foreign territory is attack, yes. You can't do it through "defence".

    Why did that ground invasion begin, pray tell? Did Israel just decide to initiate a war for no particular reason?

      Why would it matter? It's not defense. Defense was what happened in a first day or two in Israel territory, then IDF started coutnerattacking.

        Why would matter? I guess if someone came to your house and killed some of your family members, then left, threatening to do it again, while occasionally shooting at your house, you’d have no just cause in retaliation.
