Your observations are correct on all accounts from what I've been watching too. The compounders are basically in a wild-west "try to make us stop" and won't quit until the FDA sends them strongly worded letters (if at all). Personally I am rooting for the biohackers to come up with a way to make it "at home" safely because this constant concept of allowing patents for things already in nature is ridiculous.
