It's a pretty dangerous mindset to imagine you're "fixing" a problem rather than "treating" a symptom.
- daedrdev 2y agoObesity is the main cause of myriad health problems. It is both treating a symptom, and fixing a problem. On average, somekne imwho is obese will love a much healthier life that is years longer than it would be without the drug. If that isn't an amazing outcome for medicine, than what is? Everyone dies, so all medicine treats symptoms at some level
- throwaway19972 2y agoSure, but none of us know what the impact this drug will have on a societal level yet. Saying we've "fixed" anything is ridiculous.
