Visualizing the Nucleus [video]
- sedivy94 2y agoI found this film recently and cannot recommend it enough. One of the most visually captivating and thought-provoking pieces of media I've consumed in recent memory. It details the emergence of space-time, matter, chemistry, abiogenesis, and human culture. The CGI and sound design are especially good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FJVCrldAfM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FJVCrldAfM
- froh 2y agoit's a desperately unrelated philosophical Artwork "Photon" of a Polish artist Norman Leto with obscure Cyrillic (?) subtitles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Leto https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman_Leto
- synapsomorphy 2y agoThere were a number of things in this that really surprised me as a non-physicist with decent physics knowledge. I didn't know how fast everything moves in the nucleus, that misshapen/elongated nuclei are possible, and halo nuclei are crazy (even if they are all very short lived).
