Who’s to say they won’t at some point? This isn’t about punishing Apple. It’s about economic opportunity for EU citizens and businesses. The EU has a responsibility to promote the prosperity of its citizens. If that means dictating how a US company does business, then that’s what they are going to do. Which is the EUs prerogative. As an aside, and something that is seldom mentioned, but if Apple and the other trillion dollar tech giants just paid their fair share of taxes then they may not be in this mess!
