Do not put company data on personal devices. Just by putting their data on a device outside their control, you may be in breach of whatever IP agreements, compliance requirements, or even company handbook. The fact that you have to fake IDE usage should be a huge red flag. Don't risk it, just use their machine. There are so much better, more important and meaningful things to fight.
