I would never use my personal equipment for work - even though my work has a policy stating it is acceptable provided certain conditions are met (AV software, lock screen, not a shared device etc). If you are just a regular user using it to VPN in to check email, maybe . . . but if you are a dev, or admin, with elevated privileges or access to source code or secrets, you are just asking for trouble if anything goes wrong.(eg, malware that you may have acquired from some random software, or repo you tried)
