People tend to have their minds made up for them by powerful interests who use money and influence to frame the narrative in their favor no doubt. In the case of climate change the fictional argument/narrative for years as been "ITS A HOAX - NOT REAL - PROPAGANDA!!!". Here in the US I don't even think idiots believe that anymore ... but here we are still.
- caekislove 2y agoWe're still here because "Just Stop Oil" isn't a policy proposal, and as close as these activists get to articulating policy proposals are complete non-starters like "make driving a car illegal" or "make it illegal to fly in airplanes". Promoting more nuclear power seems an obvious start to reducing carbon emissions, but whenever anyone says that, those same activists instantly scream NOT IN MY BACKYARD!
