"WHAT KIND of cheese is the moon made of"
Climate/Energy policy is the electorate, not the government.
You're not protesting The Government here, you're in fact protesting your neighbors who elected the politicians. It seems self evident that any policy being protested is in fact a popular policy and that protestors are the minority attempting to force their will on the majority. By this line of thinking it seems any group protesting anything is missing the point.
Also - who wants more nuclear power? We can go back to living in caves and fighting for scarce resources, expand the nuclear power infrastructure or continue to burn oil and gas. Pick one.

- SavageBeast 2y agoPeople tend to have their minds made up for them by powerful interests who use money and influence to frame the narrative in their favor no doubt. In the case of climate change the fictional argument/narrative for years as been "ITS A HOAX - NOT REAL - PROPAGANDA!!!". Here in the US I don't even think idiots believe that anymore ... but here we are still.
- caekislove 2y agoWe're still here because "Just Stop Oil" isn't a policy proposal, and as close as these activists get to articulating policy proposals are complete non-starters like "make driving a car illegal" or "make it illegal to fly in airplanes". Promoting more nuclear power seems an obvious start to reducing carbon emissions, but whenever anyone says that, those same activists instantly scream NOT IN MY BACKYARD!
