A modest anti-FIRE manifesto – Independently Poor
- Mistletoe 2y ago> Unless you have a physically demanding job, retirement is bad for your health. I definitely don’t agree with this. Retiring early has allowed me to concentrate on my health like never before. I have time to run and work out, cook healthy meals, get plenty of sleep. Things that were never possible constantly tired from working my job. My health has never been better.
- youoy 2y ago> Instead of maybe retiring at some future date, working fewer hours now and having time and energy to spend on friends and family is the option that Independently Poorness offers today. This, and saving enough money so that you are not "trapped" by your main job are some more realistic (an maybe healthier) goals than FIRE.
