You’re asking why someone doesn’t just leave an abusive spouse.

- lukan 2y agoThey can IF they see a working and safe alternative. But one trait of abusive relationships is, that the abuser destroys the self esteem of the victim, making them believe, they cannot stand on their own and that they need the abuser. And that they should rather be thankful .. Which is why safe houses were founded. To provide such a temporary alternative.
