Nah the AI hype doesn't seem similar 1. It hasn't really required or designed new computer architecture. Instead it repurposed hardware that was designed and tuned over years by the game industry. 2. It's more empirical. Little to no theory building and more "throwing stuff at the wall to see what fits" 3. Not really "proudly national made" right? I don't think Washington minds being world leading on AI, but from where I'm standing it doesn't seem to be something that's been championed nationally. That's not to say it's not a bubble
