Can an Iranian citizen register a Delaware corporation and operate in the US?
- proberts 2y agoFrom abroad? From an immigration perspective, there are no issues but other export controls/commerce laws might come into play.
- eeefiil 2y agoIranian citizen already in the US with a valid H1-B visa. I have seen articles mentioning that Iranian citizens are not allowed to open a corporation in the US. Is this true? And is it possible to change status of H1-B to O-1 after registering the business. Thanks. https://www.delawareinc.com/before-forming-your-company/delaware-company-formations-for-non-residents/#:~:text=You%20do%20not%20have%20to%20live%20in%2C%20or%20even%20visit%2C%20the%20State%20of%20Delaware%20in%20order%20to%20form%20a%20Delaware%20company.%20Other%20than%20residents%20of%20restricted%20countries%20(Cuba%2C%20Iran%2C%C2%A0North%20Korea%2C%20Syria%20and%20Russia)%2C%20anyone%20can%20start%C2%A0a%20Delaware%20company%C2%A0as%20a%20non%2Dresident https://www.delawareinc.com/before-forming-your-company/dela...

- proberts 2y agoThat's a corporate law question but I'm not aware of any law prohibiting Iranian citizens from establishing a company in the U.S. and yes, once the company is established (and certain minimal/easy company-related requirements are met), the company can sponsor the founder for an O-1 visa.
