I will believe that AI can replace software developers when I see major tech companies laying off all their software developer employees that they have replaced with AI. Today's AI and LLMs are great at generating code based on code that has been written before by humans. They do not think. They do not reason. They do not understand problems and therefore cannot create innovative solutions. They are not AGI.
