- drewnick 2y agoMy son and I listen to DMR and P25 all the time, and we listened to a bunch of the samples of Codec2 vs AMBE. And while it might be a slight improvement, it doesn't move the needle enough to really excite. Perhaps a longer QSO would be more exciting to hear the difference on. Wouldn't hardware be a constratint just like it is with M17?
- chillingeffect 2y agoFor me it's not the sound quality (as long as it's comparable), but the ability to use digital modes on any radio without vendor lock-in!
