Emergent phenomena are just as real as fundamental phenomena in the plain spoken-language sense. A wall's existence is only subjective if you are prevented from walking through it but the cat passes right on through because it feels there's no wall. We don't yet know whether time is emergent or fundamental. It most certainly exists.
