I've had exactly the opposite experience, Samsung denied warranty coverage on a Nexus-S, on the other hand, I've had Apple give me a free upgrade (30 to 60GB) for an iPod classic ~5 years ago, because the lock switch was broken and they changed the keyboard on an out of warranty MacBook about a year ago. I've bought 3 Apple laptops over the past 4 years because I've had really bad experiences with Dell and HP laptops in the past. From broader perspective, both our experiences are insignificant.
