Poster is clearly not suggesting ubiquity of alcohol is conspiracy. There are also alcohol-related phenomena that has never been ubiquitous as they are now, such as binge drinking by large section of the population especially underaged people. Also same applies to tobacco and oil though ubiquitous and used for a long time in all kinds of society, it does not contradict the fact that Big Oil and Tobacco firm has "influenced" research to suit their purposes.
