As much as the community may want a fork, I suspect it's not going to pick up much momentum unless it's created by a larger company with skin in the game, i.e WPEngine.
- thih9 2y agoWPEngine starting a foundation and successfully forking Wordpress would have been an appropriate plot twist.
- mastazi 2y agoI agree and that is also my fear. That would mean that people will just move to something proprietary like Squarespace or Wix. This type of shift has happened many times before in tech so I consider it likely.
