If the 9800X3D is more efficient that would be a reason for me to upgrade from the 7800X3D, since I run it in a space constrained ITX case (FormD T1). That said, the 7800X3D is not exactly throttling in the case, but a few degrees less heat is always welcome, and gives me more GPU headroom if the 5090 will end up fitting eventually (currently running 4090).
