I have to admit the ‘all access’ ticket system was pretty awesome when I visited. Note that this did not include trains going into Austria (even if you road them only in Germany). Nearly every city is joined by rail and it’s incredible. Sadly in the US Midwest we just don’t have there population density to do this sort of thing.
