My experience with fp-ts and io-ts was that we quickly got to a point where the team was divided into a small group of people usually with postgraduate CS degrees who really understood it, and then everyone else who saw it as black magic and were afraid to touch it. Nowadays I’d rather rely on libraries that don’t require a phd to use them properly.
