Best engine I found for OCR and I tested quite a few.
You still need or at least should do perspective corrections on your images and know about the usual pitfalls of OCR (i=l=1; o=ö=0 ...). That can only be solved by some form of dictionary correction in your respective language.
There aren't too many open projects about these problems around. I was surprised by that, since there are quite a few products that seem to work pretty well. But I never found an open out-of-the-box solution for general OCR.
