Consistency in CAP and Consistency in ACID have entirely separate meanings.
- gpderetta 2y agoThe C in ACID has a different definition of Consistency, yet the combination of guarantees given by ACID should also imply Consistency in the distributed system sense, right? I.e. a distributed database that claims to be ACID cannot sacrifice consistency [edit: at least for some isolation levels].
- anonymousDan 2y agoIsolation (the I in ACID) is more closely related to the notion of consistency in the distributed system community.
