That’s a good distinction. I almost always include validation in the process, but you’re right, it’s not inherent to serialization. In the JavaScript space, Effect offers an awesome package for ser/de which integrates validation. I think it’s my favourite tool in the ecosystem, but I prefer it over options in many other languages as well.
